Her skill set spans talent acquisition, event management, and leadership within content markets and film festivals.
Wangeci holds an MBA in Media Leadership from the University of Cumbria, complemented by specialized training in Women's Entrepreneurship and Leadership, as well as Television Production. As the CEO of Media Pros Africa, she leads a media consultancy known for delivering tailored media solutions across Africa. Media Pros Africa collaborates with broadcast platforms, content producers, film festivals, and media institutions, contributing to the growth and diversification of African media content.
Her career highlights include serving as Programming Manager at M-Net Africa, where she was instrumental in creating shows like Big Brother Africa and Idols East Africa. As Head of Business Development at Wananchi Programming (ZUKU TV), Wangeci led the commissioning of local productions such as Tales From The Bush Larder and Groove Theory, while also developing new channels like Zuku Swahili Movies and Zuku Kids.
Wangeci’s contributions to the industry have earned her positions on prestigious awards juries, including the Emmy Awards, Africa Movie Academy Awards, and Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. She is also an active participant in prominent media forums and content markets, such as DISCOP Africa and the East African Film Network, shaping discussions on the future of African media.
A dedicated advocate for media innovation, Wangeci has played a pivotal role in the development of content markets in Zanzibar, Zambia, and Rwanda. She continues to lead training workshops and facilitate industry growth.

Lucy is a Media Specialist with experience spanning over a decade. She turned her passion for TV & Media into a career in Content Acquisition, Distribution, and Production. She has created award-winning channels for PayTV and now helps content creators showcase their work in front of investors, broadcasters, and fellow industry players worldwide through her expertise in content distribution. She's overseen the content acquisition and sales for various companies in Africa, Asia, and Europe such as Wananchi Group, Cote Ouest Audiovisuel, Discovery Learning Alliance, Dubai International Content Market, The NGO International Film Festival, Ubongo International, Media Pros Africa, Sotambe Zambia International Film Festival among others. She is also a Media Events Curator and has trained hundreds of filmmakers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia on film marketing and distribution. Currently running her own freelance consultancy, she oversees the distribution of content globally.
Her aspiration is to make the beautiful stories of Africa reach every corner of the world.
Wacuka Mungai: Content Lead
Wacuka is a multifaceted storyteller with over 20 years of experience in writing,communications, editing, singing, and performance, where she earned acclaim for her principal roles in various musical theatre productions. Her writing extends to local and African television dramas and soap operas, including notable projects such as Mnet’s “Changes” and NTV’s “Mali.” In addition, she has contributed to the development of two upcoming episodic shows, one local and one American. Wacuka remains deeply involved in musical theatre, both as a performer and a playwright. She is currently finalizing an original musical, which is slated for debut in 2025.

As a Front-End Engineer with a proven track record, I've dedicated myself to crafting seamless digital experiences and driving significant improvements in user engagement and sales conversion rates. Presently, I contribute my expertise to Media Pros Africa, where I lead front-end development initiatives. Spearheading an ecommerce event website, I orchestrated an enhanced user interface and optimized the user journey, resulting in notable increases in engagement and sales conversions.
Prior to this, my tenure at Dasci Limited provided me with valuable experiences in collaborating with backend developers to integrate cutting-edge frontend interfaces with backend functionalities, ensuring optimal performance and efficient data flow. I've also played a pivotal role in overhauling company websites, leveraging technologies like Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Sanity, leading to a substantial boost in site loading speed and a remarkable increase in overall site traffic.
My journey into the tech realm commenced during my industrial attachments, where I gained hands-on experience as an ICT Technician, managing portals, providing IT support, and honing my skills in software installation, hardware troubleshooting, and system integration.
Educationally, I hold a Diploma in Information Communication Technology from Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology, complemented by specialized training in Software Engineering from ALX and a Web Development Certification from FreeCodeCamp.org.
